Two entries by postgraduate students from Tsinghua University recently won gold and silver awards at a home textile design contest in Haining, East China’s Zhejiang province.

As part of this year’s China International Home Textiles Expo, the contest aimed to create more Chinese-style home textiles inspired by the most classical elements in traditional culture and international fashion trends.

Xin Ying and Fu Xiaotong are both students at the Department of Textile and Fashion Design of Tsinghua’s Academy of Arts and Design. Their designs stood out from nearly 3,000 works submitted.

Their tutors, Jia Jingsheng and Zhang Shuxin, teachers at the university, also received awards.

More than 100 colleges and universities and 36 enterprises and design institutions from home and abroad participated in the contest.
