The 13th International Congress of Logic Methodology and Philosophy of Science, recognized as the Olympics in Logic and Philosophy of Science circles, was recently held in Beijing. It was co-organized by Tsinghua University, the International Union for History and Philosophy of Science (IUHPS), and the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science (DLMPS).

Three famous scholars gave plenary speeches at the congress. They are Mr. Adolf Grünbaum, President of DLMPS and chair professor from the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Ehud Hrushovski, professor of mathematics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Mr. John R. Searle, professor of philosophy at UC Berkeley. 54 scholars presented their research achievements, which focused on the following four areas: Logic, General Philosophy of Science, Philosophical Issues of Particular Sciences, and Science and Society.

The congress was held in Asia for the first time since 1960. It attracted over 500 scholars from 40 countries and regions in the world.
